In 2015, Matthew released Past Waters/Fever Lives, an album of experimental, transcendental compositions combining and transmuting the aesthetics of neo-folk, progressive rock, psychedelia, metal, and world music. The album was praised as “a truly jaw-dropping listening experience,” “one of the most genuinely outstanding releases of 2015” (Andy, Scene Point Blank), and “absolutely gorgeous, elegant, and so deeply and comprehensively developed,” “the power of a musical genius” (Kelsey Simpkins, Bearded Gentleman Music).

In 2019, Matthew released SPARKS under the moniker WET MATH, unleashing his compositional creativity in the context of electronic music/IDM. Also in 2019, in conjunction with Kayo Dot’s release of the lauded Blasphemy, Serra composed and released Purity, a sister album of reimaginations of the sonic content of Blasphemy, via Prophecy Industries.
